I got in the roster of NSHR FAO. Any idea how much time it will take to get an assignment and duty station ?
Staff position or consultant roster?
It's the consultant roster....it stated NSHR consultant at FAO. please guide, how much time it takes to get an assignment and duty station?
My experience, no set timeline. I’m on one of their rosters for a year now (got in late 2019), haven’t received a contract yet. But then COVID happened, so I don’t know if that affected it since they said it was going to be in duty station task. I was told the roster is valid for 2 years so I’m staying hopeful.
Also, I saw they advertised for another call for roster for this same category I am in and asked those already in the Roster not to apply.
Not to discourage you, yours might be different (please let me know if you get a contract).

Writing to share that I got into a roster (pool of experts) quite surprisingly. I've probably applied more than 200 + UN jobs and managed to land on a job few months back. But I took the test in any case as it is one grade up than the current job I have. The whole process took about an year in total. I am very content with the result and wish others very good luck.

Happy New Year everyone!

Just wanted to share my story. After being places on 3 rosters last year, I got selected for a position with UN! The recruitment process took around 10 months.

Any experience with their onboarding process? how long do the medical clearance, reference, and education verification take?

Hello All!
I finally received my notice that I have been selected for the P3 I applied for in September!
I'm so excited I think I cannot realize yet! I am now waiting for the onboarding process to start.

My timeline:
- Applied in September
- Exam in November
- Interview in December
- Notice of appointment in February!

While waiting for this position I was roster for another one and got a call for an interview in another duty station (I have canceled since I got the offer) but this tells me that the roster is also very effective at getting a position even if the one I got, I was not rostered for it.

Never give up! I started applying 1 year 1-2 ago and made 55 applications. I got called back for 3 only.
It's certainly a patience and numbers game!

Would be happy to answer any questions.

Take care :)
