Hi Ahmed,I experienced the same thing and I equally asked and thanks to Sebastian I came to understand that you need to exercise patience because it takes a long time for special calls to be treated.
Just keep your fingers crossed and be patient.

Thanks a lot Karen, yeah I think being patient is all what I can do now.
I was just wondering as the job starting date is immediate, so I thought the process would be faster than usual

Hey Ahmed,
As for how long it takes it depends. For instance if you apply for a special call as an election specialist, maybe in Congo where they are having a presidential election. The immediate can be in days or in weeks to enable you report before the elections. I applied for a special call in Early November which the starting date was immediate. I was long listed the next day after the deadline. Contacted for an interview after five days and asked to submit some documents after a week. It varies from days to months.

Agree with Papa, sometimes the starting date is accurate. Sometimes it's simply an outdated call.

Hi Ahmed. I also applied for special calls that put the starting date at Jan 2019 and even up to now I am trying not to lose hope. We can only be patient as there is no definite timeline and the only thing people agree on is that the recruitment process is lengthy. Patience. Persistence.

All the best.

Hi guys, unfortunately I wasn't long listed for that post Air operations assistant in the DRC.
I had applied to Movcon assistant in Somalia too.
My question here, can I amend my job description after submitting my application? Or it will just show what was written in it the time I submitted it?

Thanks a lot

I don't think you can. Each special call you applied to will show what is on your profile. You can amend your profile at any time, even after applying to a special call.
