UN temporary job

Post by dee06 » 13 Mar 2019, 14:39

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. I have a question regarding the recruitment process for temporary jobs at the UN Secretariat.
I got an email inviting me for a technical assessment (written test). I took the test two weeks ago and I haven't heard back from HR yet. Should I assume that I haven't passed the test? The vacancy is temporary and the start date is asap which makes me think that the assessment process should be fast.

Has anyone experience this?

Thank you very much!

It was not with the UN Secretariat but I took tests with agencies a couple of times.
It took them from 2-6 wks to come back with inviting me for the interview.
For 2 wks, it was with UNOPS, and it is known for its prompt recruitment.

Hi, I have just been invited to also take a Temp test on a UN TJO, could you share what kind of questions you encountered in yours?

Hi, I've took TA job tests about 5-6 times. Do not remember specific numbers.
But all of them were strictly related to ToR and previous work I've done.
So the quality of the questions were not difficult. It was more of a problem of knowing how to manage very limited time.
Then everyone can do well if enough time was given, I assume.

Thanks for this. I will definitely focus on the technicalities of my job and the TOR.
